Financial Assistance Requests

Use this request when you need help with money-related needs, such as rent, utilities, transportation, or other urgent expenses that affect your family’s stability and safety.

Material Assistance Requests

Use this request when you need physical items, such as clothing, household supplies, baby items, or other material supports to help care for yourself or your family.

Mental Health/Substance Abuse Assistance Requests

Use this request when you or a loved one is struggling with mental health, substance use, or both, and you would like help finding services, resources, or safe support.

Share My Experience Requests

Use this request when you want to share your experience with child welfare, courts, or other systems so that your story can help inform advocacy, training, or community change.

ADA/ADAA Requests

Use this request when you need accommodations or support related to a disability or mental health condition under the ADA/ADAA, especially in child welfare, court, or service settings.

Report Assistance Requests

Use this request when a report has been made about your family, or you think a report might be made, and you want help understanding the process and your options.

Suicide Awareness Request

Use this request when you want education, resources, or support related to suicide awareness, prevention, and safety planning for yourself, your family, or your community.

Come Speak to Community Requests

Use this request when you would like someone from the Iowa Family Preservation Project to speak with your group, organization, school, or community about family preservation and related topics.

Employment Assistance Requests

Use this request when you are looking for help with employment, such as job search support, resume guidance, or navigating work issues connected to your family situation.

Legislation/Policy Reform Investigation Requests

Use this request when you want help looking into how laws, policies, or practices are affecting families in Iowa and how your experience might connect to advocacy or policy change.

The Iowa Family Preservation Project cannot provide 24/7 crisis response through these request forms, and they should not be used in an emergency.

Iowa Family Preservation Project

The Iowa Family Preservation Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by child welfare survivors, veterans, and military families. Our mission is to reform Iowa’s child welfare system from the inside out, advocating for practices that ensure child safety while keeping families intact.
